Kristina Janolo was crowned
Miss Florida 2011 at the 76th Annual Miss Florida Pageant, July 9, 2011 in St. Petersburg, Florida winning preliminary Interview, Swimsuit, and Evening Wear She will advance to the Miss America Pageant to represent the Sunshine State in Las Vegas, Nevada, January 14, 2012.Kristina has competed in the Miss America Scholarship Organization for five years and has earned over $30,000 in scholarship money for use in obtaining her higher education. She is currently a senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Marketing. Her career goal is to become an executive director for a non-profit organization.
In addition to her love for pageantry, Kristina’s passion for entertaining has led her to perform at Central Florida’s XL106.7 Red, Hot, and Boom Concert as well as the lead roles of “Gertrude” in Seussical the Musical and “Tuptim” in the King and I at the Osceola Center for the Arts, in Kissimmee, Florida. An accomplished vocalist, she has chosen to sing “Gold” on the Miss America stage.

Kristina’s platform is America’s Wake Up Call – Protect Our Environment and she is focused on reminding Americans that we all must protect the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the natural areas we treasure. As a spokesperson for Florida’s Everglades, Kristina will advocate the protection and restoration of one of the world’s unique natural ecosystems that provides economic, recreational and life-sustaining benefits to the millions of people who depend on its future health.

In 2006 Kristina developed a program entitled Commitment to Always Remember the Elderly, (C.A.R.E.) which focuses on creating awareness about the ever-growing needs of the older generation. This past year, she introduced a community service project called C.A.R.E. Cozies that all age groups can participate in by donating or creating blankets that are then given to those in assisted living facilities and nursing homes. She is an avid volunteer with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and as Miss Florida 2011, will be an official state wide promoter of CMNH.
